Buddy DeFranco, Sonny Clark and bebop
Marc Myers of Jazz Wax inteviewed Buddy DeFranco in 2010 about his illustrious career in bebop which began with his quartet featuring Kenny Drew and Art Blakey which in 1954 evolved into a wonderful quartet with Sonny Clark which also included Tal Farlow for a time. It was a great band and was the subject of one of Mosaic’s earliest sets.
