Louis Armstrong And His All Stars
Although there was a certain amount criticism toward Louis Armstrong and his All Stars playing the same tunes night after night, he did so because his audiences wanted to hear them over and over. Here’s one example. “A Kiss To Build A Dream On” was a hit for Louis on Decca in 1951 and with practically the same arrangement he continued to play this in concert settings and on television well into the late 1960s. Here is a beautiful rendition at a perfect tempo from Swedish television on May 25, 1962.
