The first nine selections come from the original Louis Armstrong & The All Stars at the Nice International Jazz Festival on February 22 & 23, 1948. The band with Jack Teagarden, Barney Bigard, Earl Hines, Arvell Shaw and Sid Catlett is in exceptional form. Seven more are culled from the October 12, 1952 concert at the Titania Palast in Berlin featuring an edition of Louis Armstrong & The All Stars with Bob McCracken on clarinet and vocals as well as Trummy Young, Marty Napoleon, Arvell Shaw, Cozy Cole and vocalist Velma Middleton. The venue recorded the concert which was then broadcast throughout Europe. The ensemble turns in a stunning performance driven by Louis's warm yet ferocious leadership.
