This collection of previously unissued duets comes from Tristano's private recordings. The innovative and harmonically brilliant pianist gets together with tenor saxophonist Lennie Popkin on October 15, 1970 for the first six duets here. Lennie and Connie hers performed the two-part concerto for two pianos in 1976. The last eight performances date from 1967/68 with drummer Roger Mancuso. Tis CD is a rare opportunity to hear Tristano is unique settings with three of his disciples.
